You will have read or seen the latest about the reluctance of ONS staff to move to Newport - Valleys mam also posted about it earlier this week.
However, the reorganisation of the civil service within Wales seems to have been forgotten in all of this.
There are certainly strong indications that the vast majority of the 150 enterprise staff to be moved up North to Llandudno Junction later this year have refused to do so. Apparently they think that Conwy isn't a patch on Cowbridge (how wrong they are!)
This will either mean that the Assembly will need to advertise these highly skilled posts as new (whilst retaining the existing 150 staff in different jobs).
This will result in a bunch of rookies being appointed to deal directly with business (with disastrous consequences) or trained staff from enterprise agencies and local authority economic development departments across North Wales being poached to work for the Assembly.
The other option, which may be less palatable politically, is that the enterprise division will stay in South Wales which, allegedly, is the stance being taken by the civil service unions.
At this stage, everything remains in limbo until the new Assembly Government is formed but watch this space.

PS: Who's to say there isn't expertise in this area in North Wales anyway?!
most have been promoted beyond their capabilities and need moving out or educating on what business and economic development mean
