At the European election launch today, David Cameron said:
"I think the scale of the problems facing Britain today - the recession, the debt crisis, and above all the political crisis - all point in one direction. I think there is now only one way of sorting out the mess, and that is for Parliament to be dissolved and for a General Election to be held right away."
About time too as the people of this country have waited too long to have their say on the state of this nation, the management of the economy and the way their Parliament has been dragged through the mud by the greed and avarice of MPs from all parties.
To emphasise the point, he has launched a national petition calling for a general election which can be signed here.

There needs to be new policy and process in place in regard to expenses, second jobs ,second homes etc.
Then may be there may be some confidence from us ordinary mortals in the badly bruised and battered system we now have.
Thought - who the hell would want the job anyway as it now stands.
That just ain’t going to happen is it?
The current Parliament, and all of its members, has lost all moral authority and we need a new one now.
The country is in a mess, our Parliament is discredited and it is time for the people to have their say.
I cannot believe you want to see this discredited government, led by a discredited Prime Minister, limp on for another twelve months whilst things go from bad to worse.
We need to end this now if we are to save this economy and what is left of the reputation of our politicians
The people need to be given the opportunity to decide who they want to lead them out of the recession and to deal with the farce that has become our political system.
Yes - if that means that members with moats and swimming pools lose their seats, then so be it, although I would hope that their consistency parties will have the common sense to give them the political equivalent of a loaded pistol and a quiet room, and choose instead those who actually want to make a real contribution to this country and who do not see politics as a job for life paid for by the taxpayer.
I do not want same old same old that's for sure .
