The latest corrected statistics on the number of students at Welsh universities has just been released by the Welsh Assembly Government.
The report states that "Since 2001-02 the proportion of Welsh domiciled students studying in Wales has increased from 62 per cent to 66 per cent (in 2007-08).
Yet, interestingly, this fact is nowhere to be found within the recent Assembly commissioned report into university funding.
I wonder why?

First, look at the author of the filleted report: R Merfyn Jones (Labour).
Isn't it true that with all such independent studies, the person who commissions it - in this case the Education Minister - sees and approves the successive drafts?
Correct me if I'm wrong.
